Research suggests acupuncture may help regulate the body's stress response, support nervous system function, and promote relaxation. Many patients report feeling calmer, more grounded, and better able to navigate life's challenges after treatment.
Acupuncture is not intended to eliminate stress from life. Instead, it can help support your body's ability to respond to stress in a healthier and more sustainable way.
Every treatment begins with a conversation.
We'll discuss your stress levels, energy, sleep, digestion, daily responsibilities, and the demands currently being placed on your body and nervous system. The goal is to understand where your resources are being depleted and what support your body needs most.
Treatment takes place on a comfortable heated table with pillows, bolsters, and blankets available for support. Acupuncture points are selected based on your individual needs, and you'll then rest quietly for about 20–30 minutes while your body has an opportunity to slow down and reset.
Patients often describe feeling lighter, calmer, more grounded, and less overwhelmed after treatment. Many notice improved sleep, better focus, greater emotional resilience, and a renewed sense of energy.
Burnout rarely happens because of a single cause. It often reflects the cumulative effects of stress, responsibilities, health concerns, life transitions, and nervous system overload.
Dr. Carolyn takes a whole-person approach, looking beyond symptoms to understand how your unique experiences may be affecting your health and wellbeing.
Acupuncture points are selected based on your individual presentation, and treatment may be enhanced with therapies such as craniosacral therapy, aromatherapy, cupping, massage therapy, Reiki, herbal medicine, or lifestyle recommendations when appropriate.
Care is always collaborative, and treatments are adjusted based on your goals, preferences, and response to care. The focus is not simply on reducing stress, but on helping you build greater resilience and capacity over time.
Many patients seek acupuncture when they feel depleted, overwhelmed, or emotionally exhausted. Research suggests acupuncture may help support relaxation, nervous system regulation, and overall well-being.
You're not alone. Many people who seek treatment have spent years functioning in high-stress environments. Treatment is designed to meet you where you are, without requiring you to "turn off" stress immediately.
Every person is different, and treatment recommendations are based on your symptoms, goals, health history, and how long you've been experiencing concerns.
For many people, 4–6 weekly treatments provides a good starting point. This allows enough time for the nervous system to begin shifting into a calmer, more regulated state and for those changes to become more sustainable. After that, we'll reassess your progress and determine the best plan moving forward together.
