Research suggests acupuncture may help regulate the body's stress response, support nervous system function, and promote relaxation. Many patients report improvements in sleep quality, stress levels, emotional wellbeing, and their ability to manage everyday challenges.
Acupuncture is not intended to replace mental health care, counseling, or medical treatment. Instead, it can serve as a valuable part of an integrative approach to supporting overall wellbeing.
Every treatment begins with a conversation.
We'll discuss your symptoms, stress levels, sleep, digestion, energy, and any other factors that may be affecting your well-being. The goal is to understand how your nervous system is responding and what support it needs.
Treatment takes place on a comfortable heated table with pillows, bolsters, and blankets available for support. Acupuncture points are selected based on your individual needs, and you'll then rest quietly for about 20–30 minutes while your body has an opportunity to settle and reset.
Patients often describe feeling deeply relaxed, grounded, lighter, calmer, or more connected to themselves after treatment. Some notice improved sleep, reduced tension, greater mental clarity, or a renewed sense of resilience.
Healing isn't about forcing the body to change—it's about creating the conditions that allow change to happen.
Dr. Carolyn takes a whole-person approach, looking beyond symptoms to understand how factors such as stress, sleep, digestion, hormones, pain, and life experiences may be influencing your health.
Acupuncture points are selected based on your individual presentation, and treatment may be enhanced with therapies such as craniosacral therapy, aromatherapy, cupping, massage therapy, Reiki, herbal medicine, or lifestyle recommendations when appropriate.
Care is always collaborative, and treatments are adjusted based on your goals, preferences, and response to care. The focus is not simply on reducing symptoms, but on helping you build a stronger foundation for long-term wellbeing.
Research suggests acupuncture may support nervous system regulation and stress management. Many patients report feeling calmer, more relaxed, and better able to manage stress after treatment.
Only what feels helpful and relevant. The goal is to understand your experience, not to force you to share more than you're comfortable discussing.
Some patients feel deeply relaxed or sleepy after treatment, while others feel calm, focused, and refreshed.
Every person is different, and treatment recommendations are based on your symptoms, goals, health history, and how long you've been experiencing concerns.
For many people, 4–6 weekly treatments provide a good starting point. This allows enough time for the nervous system to begin shifting into a calmer, more regulated state and for those changes to become more sustainable. After that, we'll reassess your progress and determine the best plan moving forward together.
