Hormonal Health

Supporting balance through every stage of life.

Hormones influence far more than reproductive health. They affect mood, sleep, energy, digestion, metabolism, stress resilience, menstrual cycles, and overall wellbeing. When hormones are out of balance, the effects can be felt throughout the entire body.

At Sunflower Bloom Acupuncture & Healing Arts, we take a whole-person approach to hormonal health, helping patients better understand their symptoms while supporting the body's natural ability to find balance.

How Acupuncture May Help

Research suggests acupuncture may help support hormonal balance by influencing the nervous system, promoting healthy circulation, supporting menstrual cycle regulation, and reducing stress. Many patients report improvements in mood, energy, sleep, and overall wellbeing.

Acupuncture is not intended to replace medical care or hormone therapy when indicated. Instead, it can serve as part of a comprehensive approach to supporting hormonal health.

What to Expect from Treatment

Every treatment begins with a conversation.

We'll discuss your symptoms, menstrual history, sleep, stress levels, digestion, energy, and overall health. The goal is to understand how hormonal changes may be affecting your daily life and identify opportunities for support.

Treatment takes place on a comfortable heated table with pillows, bolsters, and blankets available for support.

Acupuncture points are selected based on your individual presentation, and you'll then rest quietly for about 20–30 minutes while your body has an opportunity to settle and restore.

Many patients describe treatment as calming, grounding, and restorative. Over time, patients often report improvements in mood, sleep, energy, and their ability to navigate hormonal transitions more comfortably.

A Personalized Approach to Healing

Hormonal health is influenced by many interconnected factors, including stress, sleep, nutrition, digestion, nervous system regulation, and overall health.

Dr. Carolyn takes a whole-person approach, looking beyond symptoms to understand the patterns that may be contributing to hormonal imbalance.

Acupuncture points are selected based on your individual presentation, and treatment may be enhanced with therapies such as craniosacral therapy, aromatherapy, cupping, massage therapy, Reiki, herbal medicine, dietary recommendations, or lifestyle support when appropriate.

Care is always collaborative, and treatments are adjusted based on your goals, preferences, and response to care. The focus is not simply on symptom management, but on helping you build a stronger foundation for long-term wellbeing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can acupuncture help balance hormones?

Research suggests acupuncture may support hormonal health and menstrual cycle regulation while helping the body adapt to hormonal transitions.

Can acupuncture help with PMS?

Many patients seek acupuncture for symptoms such as mood changes, cramping, headaches, fatigue, and other PMS-related concerns.

How many treatments will I need?

Every person is different, and treatment recommendations are based on your symptoms, goals, health history, and how long you've been experiencing concerns.

For many people, 4–6 weekly treatments provides a good starting point, and some women begin noticing changes in their symptoms within that timeframe. However, because hormones follow natural monthly rhythms, treatment over the course of approximately three menstrual cycles is often recommended to fully assess how your body is responding and support more lasting changes.

We'll reassess your progress along the way and adjust your treatment plan based on your individual needs and goals.
