Acupuncture is not intended to replace medical or gynecologic care when needed. Instead, it can serve as part of a comprehensive and collaborative approach to hormonal health.
Every treatment begins with a conversation.
We'll discuss your menstrual cycle, symptoms, fertility goals if applicable, health history, stress levels, sleep, digestion, energy, and overall well-being. The goal is to understand the broader picture of your health and how PCOS may be affecting your body.
Treatment takes place on a comfortable heated table with pillows, bolsters, and blankets available for support. Acupuncture points are selected based on your individual presentation, and you'll then rest quietly for about 20–30 minutes while your body has an opportunity to relax and restore.
Many patients report improvements in cycle awareness, stress levels, energy, and overall well-being as treatment progresses.
PCOS affects every woman differently.
Dr. Carolyn takes a whole-person approach, looking beyond symptoms to understand how hormones, stress, sleep, nutrition, digestion, nervous system regulation, and overall health may be contributing to your experience.
Acupuncture points are selected based on your individual presentation, and treatment may be enhanced with therapies such as herbal medicine, dietary recommendations, craniosacral therapy, aromatherapy, or lifestyle support when appropriate.
Care is always collaborative, and treatments are adjusted based on your goals, preferences, and response to care. Whether your focus is cycle regulation, fertility, metabolic health, or symptom management, your treatment plan is designed around your individual needs.

Many women with PCOS seek acupuncture as part of a comprehensive fertility support plan. Acupuncture is often used alongside medical fertility care and lifestyle interventions.
For many people, 4–6 weekly treatments provides a good starting point. Because hormones follow natural monthly rhythms, treatment over the course of approximately three menstrual cycles is often recommended to fully assess how your body is responding and support more lasting changes.
