Hello, I’m Dr. Alisha Sabouneh.
Dr. Alisha’s story
From the age of 15, I have suffered from debilitating migraines. These migraines progressively got worse after the birth of my second child and with it came a plethora of other symptoms including severe fatigue, brain fog, and depression to name a few. When I would tell my Western medicine doctors about my symptoms, they would run tests, find “nothing wrong”, tell me it was “normal” for women to get migraines and feel the way I was feeling, and send me on my way with no help and no suggestions of where I could go for help.
After fifteen years of struggling, a friend of mine introduced me to an acupuncturist and energy worker. Soon after I began seeing him, I started to notice my symptoms improving. Some of my symptoms went away completely and others slowly began to get better. I was in awe of the transformation my mind, body, and spirit were making, and I knew I wanted to practice this medicine and help people.
While my love for acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and energy healing began with my own healing, it is the transformations I see every day in not only my patients but in patients of my colleagues as well that continue to grow my love and excitement for this medicine.
I strongly believe that to heal, we must treat the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. These three things are the cornerstones of our health and wellness. If one is out of alignment, it quickly can affect the other two. One of the many things I love so much about Traditional Chinese Medicine is that it focuses on balancing any imbalances with the mind, body, and spirit.
It is my goal to provide a safe, comfortable, and encouraging treatment environment where you feel heard and empowered to heal. I will meet you where you are at and provide you with education and resources to further your healing process beyond the treatment room. While I enjoy treating many different conditions, I am very passionate about mental health, women’s health, pain management, orthopedics, and oncology, all areas I have a personal connection with.
In my time away from the clinic, I absolutely love spending time with my family. My children are very active in their respective sports, and we do quite a bit of traveling for their competitions and tournaments. It is so fun to experience new places while watching them do what they love. I also enjoy the outdoors, making crafts, reading, learning new things, and attending plays, concerts, and shows.
